2006 Treasurer – Kathy Pope
Hello Michigan Jaycees!
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Kathy Pope (formerly Kraska). I am excited to serve as your Treasurer for 2006 and I am honored to be a part of an awesome Board of Directors for the Michigan Jaycees! Let me tell you a little about myself and my Jaycee history. My home Chapter is Bay City and my husband Rob Pope is currently the Chairman of the Board. He is also a State Membership Program Manager for 2006. I have been a member of the Jaycees since 1998 and have held many Board positions in Bay City including Membership Director, Life Improvement Director, Community Vice President, Treasurer and President. I am a Certified Public Accountant and currently work as a Controller at a non-profit organization.
I am here to serve you and help you be successful in your position as Treasurer. The position of Treasurer is an important position of the Board of Directors. It is one that must be held with honesty and integrity. You will be the one that guides your chapter in measuring and achieving their financial goals. If you would like training or help with accounting and recordkeeping procedures I would be happy to visit your Chapter. There is also a Treasurer Orientation document included in The Book and on the Michigan Jaycee website which was created by Lisa Lund and has been updated annually. The Treasurer Incentives for 2006 are also included in The Book and located on the website. The incentives will help you grow as a Treasurer and a Jaycee throughout the year. Make sure to print them (and submit quarterly) so you can track your success in 2006.
Don’t hesitate to contact me with your accounting/tax questions and concerns.
