AUTOTEXTLIST Local Kentwood Businesses:
The Kentwood Jaycees are a Leadership Development through Community Service organization. We host many different events in the community, things such as the Wacky Olympics, Scholarships, a Jaycee Park Clean-Up, an Egg Hunt that brought out over 400 Kentwood residents and much more. All of our programs are run from funds directly raised by our volunteer members.
Many of our members volunteer anywhere between 1-20 hours a week with our organization. We provide many valuable services, to both our members and our community. We provide leadership development training with financial seminars, business networking and more. We provide management opportunities by offering our members the chance to run projects that they create. We also offer many of the community members opportunities. We host a Holiday Baskets program in the winter when our members deliver food, toys and clothes to needy families in Kentwood and Wyoming. We make donations to other community organizations such as the Special Olympics, the Kentwood Baseball League, and more.
In October our chapter runs a “Forest of Fear”. You may recognize this name. This is our 5th year running and we are becoming a very popular haunted attraction in West Michigan. Each year we have over 5,000 people visit us over the 15 days we are open. This attraction is located in Caledonia, by Patterson and 84th Street. This project is run solely by our members (who are ALL volunteers) and funds raised from this event are put back into our chapter so we can continue to run great programs for the community and our members. However, this project is very costly to run. We spend approximately $30,000 putting this project together. This year we are hoping to team with some area businesses to try to help us offset this cost and benefit not only our chapter and community, but your business!
Included are copies of our Sponsorship packages outlining the benefits you receive should you choose to get involved. Monetary or in-kind donations are both appreciated as much of our cost for this project is construction and materials. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at any time. I sincerely hope we can work together to continue to make Kentwood a GREAT COMMUNITY!
Sincerely,
Amy L. Hose
