Junior Chamber Family AIDS Network (JCFAN)

Touch one child and YOU touch the world!!

The Michigan Jaycees have an opportunity to continue our legacy of fundraising record amounts of money for Junior Chamber Family AIDS Network.  Our goal for JCFAN is to raise $25,000 dollars in 2006!  Let’s take advantage of the long standing excellence in this program and continue the deliver while enjoying the end results of success and ensuring a child affected with HIV/ AIDS receive the best services possible.

JCFAN helps children affected with HIV/AIDS.  We can make a difference in a person’s life and make the world a brighter place. Items such as support groups, counseling, medication, and equipment to help ensure life can be lived to its fullest.

As you create your Chapter Plan, please remember to include fundraisers for JCFAN throughout the year.  Set a goal, at least $2.50 per member – without a goal, you have nothing to reach for. If you need ideas, please contact any Joey Halhober or any member of the community team.

What is the Mission of the Junior Chamber Family AIDS Network?
Mobilizing communities for collaborative, dynamic, and effective solutions that support and enhance the lives of children, youth, and families living with HIV/AIDS is the mission of the Junior Chamber Family AIDS Network. This mission is lived out through a national network of experienced local service providers.

Who does the Junior Chamber Family AIDS Network Serve?
Children who are living with HIV/AIDS, children whose caregivers or siblings are living with HIV/AIDS and children whose caregivers have died from complications associated with AIDS are helped by the Network Affiliates with services focusing on the needs of the entire family. More than 2,200 children and families have received hope and help through the Network’s affiliates across the nation.

What Services are Provided by the Network’s Affiliates?
Network Affiliates provide: (1) Child Care; (2) Caregiver Support; (3) Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services; (4) Housing; (5) Permanency Planning; (6) Case Management; (7) Support Services; and (8) HIV Prevention. All sites also have strong linkages to comprehensive HIV medical services.

Does the Junior Chamber Family AIDS Network Build Hospitals or Open New Agencies?
No. The goal of the Network is never to “reinvent the wheel.” Therefore, three methods are utilized for the expansion of services within an Affiliate community: (1) the Affiliate’s existing services are expanded through increased resources: (2) new services are developed and implemented within the Affiliate agency; or (3) collaborative agreements are developed with other community agencies already providing similar services.
