The excitement of closing in on year-to-date growth for our organization for the first time in 8 years is in the air and spreading like wildfire! Please remember that these are not just numbers in a spreadsheet. Each of the numbers below represents a person. A person that will be impacted more than they ever thought possible, a person that will help us run projects, raise funds, learn, grow and impact our communities and change our world!
Up-to-date tracker of where we are:
Thursday, October 30th, 2008 our 81st (2005) President, Bob Peacock was fatally injured in an automobile accident at age 37. It is impossible to convey the impact that Bob had on our members in any written document and equally impossible to describe the vast hole that his absence will leave in our organization as well as in our hearts. He impacted too many members, people, and communities to even begin to count.
Bob took advantage of every opportunity that the Jaycees, and life offered him, and gave back everything that he could and then some.
Please feel free to leave a note, favorite memory or story on the message board. Remembering the good times we had with Bob are what must help us through this incredibly difficult time. The details about the arrangements can also be found on the message board.
God Bless you Bob Peacock, we will miss you.
Junior Chamber International and its affiliates are an organization dedicated to fostering personal development and leadership skills through the planning and implementation of events and projects in a variety of areas for young men and women age 21 through 40. The Jaycees offer a variety of projects, one of which is sure to strike an interest level within one or all of the following Areas of Opportunity.
Business Development (entrepreneurship, chapter management, business trainings)
Community Development (community fundraising and service, government involvement)
Individual Development (personal and professional development, family and spiritual)
International Development (international exposure, Jaycee related focal impact projects)
In addition to the programs offered in the above mentioned areas the Jaycees provide opportunities to network, make new friends, learn the art of delegation, improve upon planning and public speaking skills, make a difference in the lives of others, and make a difference in your life and in the life of your local communities.
Please take a few moments to explore this website. While it is consistently being updated, we have no doubt that you will find the content informative and useful, perhaps even inspiring so that you may inquire about a chapter near you, or inform your chapter of an upcoming event or new program.
Thank you for your interest in the Michigan Junior Chamber and we look forward to the possibility of working with you in the future.
